Molly Utter
Molly Utter is a Congressional Affairs Specialist at NOAA office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research. Prior to this role she worked as a fellow and a staff member on the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation since September 2022. During her role on the committee, she worked on critical issues including coastal zone management, marine fisheries, marine mammals, and atmospheric activities, as well as rail and pipeline safety.
Molly earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Washington School of Law, specializing in sustainable international development. Throughout law school, she held legal internships with various nonprofits and government agencies, including the Washington State Attorney General's Office, USAID, and the MacArthur Foundation. Before pursuing her law degree, she worked with Landesa, a nonprofit dedicated to securing land rights for rural communities in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Molly also holds a Master of Arts in Political Science from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, knitting, and sailing.
