Kimberly Brenneman

Kimberly Waters Brenneman joins WAN's Executive Board with over 20 years of experience in holistic stakeholder engagement and development in the nonprofit sector. Kim specializes in diverse community stewardship, relationship building, and conservation outreach. As a Northern Virginia native raised on the Occoquan River in Woodbridge, she has a special affection for nature. She is excited to strengthen and support a dynamic organization dedicated to preserving the integrity and heritage of our environment by being a catalyst for change.

In her free time, she enjoys music, travel, and is mostly...outside. She's typically found exploring, locally and globally. In her words, after climbing Sydney Harbor Bridge, visiting Malahide Castle, wandering the Daintree Rainforest, diving the Great Barrier Reef, safari in Kariega, sharing a pint in Dublin, or a glass of sangria in Madrid - nowhere else matches Virginia & DC's inspiring charm and vibrant cultural tapestry.

Kim's academic narrative includes a Master's of Natural Resources and Global Sustainability from Virginia Tech, a Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Virginia, an A.A. in Sociology & A.S. in General Studies from Georgia State University, a Grant Writing Certificate from the University of Georgia, and an Ethical Decision-Making: Cultural & Environmental Impact Certificate from Georgetown University.
